The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean Power Plan Proposed Rule would impose unrealistic timelines and methods for cutting carbon dioxide emissions from power plants, raise electricity costs for customers, threaten reliability and force the retirement of additional coal-fueled generation. AEP urges the EPA to rework the proposal to include more reasonable emission reduction targets and timelines.
